@teleclimber@10leej@ironicbadger Yeah, I think at least the GrayJay situation is an interesting questioning of "how do we sustainably fund open source software?" Their solution has issues, but purely OSS licenses are not sufficient either, and I'm not sure how trademarks help small projects (that works fine enough for something large & well known such as Firefox).

All the other FUTO projects I looked at are properly Open Source. Immich will stay Open Source (according to their blog post).
The Immich news today I hope is the start of a trend. Vitally important projects that will help us be freed from the clutches of the big few tech companies nurtured and protected. I do hope the FUTO turn out to be the good guys their site appears to make them out to be. Time will be the judge. But it's a very promising thing. Congrats to the #immich project.
