   @snarfed.org but I would love to understand the exact issue! Because the user has facepiles enabled, so it must be a type that we do not yet unterstand. Does brid.gy (not fed.brid.gy) federate follow requests when connected with mastodon?

     @cybeardjm @snarfed.org @janboddez Ok, then it's because these themes does not use the https://github.com/pfefferle/wordpress-webmention/blob/381b3f0bcd500c7142235eaccc93ef94fde6dfbb/includes/class-comment-walker.php#L20 filter.

     @pfefferle @snarfed.org AFAIK, it's the "default behavior" for the comments section in the latest themes (> Twenty-Twenty-Three) : as a brigy webmention (like or repost) is a comment first, the comments code is not able to manage it and shows it as a comment containing "brigy response" and a like or repost in the facepiles.
     I solved it with the Facepile option in @janboddez 's IndieBlocks plugin.
