A funny side note, couple days back I woke up at 6:00 p.m. and the water was off. So I went to check with my upstairs neighbors to see if they mistakenly closed a valve in the utility room. They were unaware of the outage & don't have access to the utility room either. So the 70 year old man looks up the town's postings on Facebook which says an 8-in pipe broke & thousands of people were out of water. Nothing on the city website, 1 local news site article on it, but all the info is on Facebook.

I hate that more than anything now. A lot of bars and venues don't update their websites; just depend on their Facebook pages. On top of that, Facebook keeps changing everything monthly and locks down all the pages so they never stay public. I can't even see the content without a massive banner telling me to login (I deleted FB and Twitter two years ago; never going back).
It's 1990s AOL Keywords all over again, but way worse. FB needs a PayPal moment.arcanicanis likes this. -
