Web traffic analytics company's new figures find that at the moment Windows 10's market share is continuing to go up while Windows 11's market share is actually going *down* https://www.neowin.net/news/windows-10-reaches-70-market-share-as-windows-11-keeps-declining/

@ieure @mcc I highly doubt it since people are shunting the AI crap already.
At the current rates, I can't see Microsoft kill Windows 10 in 2025 unless they're willing to kill any goodwill and credibility on all sides (Consumer, Education, Business, Enterprise).

@mcc "Later this month, Microsoft will showcase new AI features for Windows 11, which could become the first solid reason to leave Windows 10 behind."
could it.

@millions @miah @mcc I'm glad that Linux exists in cases like that.
In the meantime, MS needs to add 2-3 more years to WIndows 10 past 2025 unless they're willing to face the outrage and fury on all fronts.

@mcc I think this follows the pattern of every other Windows release being one that people skip because its awful.
Will hold out for Windows12 to upgrade my gaming PC's OS.

@joeo10 @millions @miah I think I found a corporate support option by which you'll be able to pay extra to keep using Win10 with security updates past the 2025 cutoff. I am likely to do this because I am *absolutely* willing to pay extra to avoid "AI" integration

@mcc @millions @miah I'm considering that option as well as to move to the LTSC channel with this guide. https://massgrave.dev/windows_ltsc_links
(per https://massgrave.dev/)I absolutely don't want nor need any AI sucking energy on my computers on any OS I have (Windows and Linux) as long as possible.
