Looking at how to create an RPG, I could do it in RPG Maker and play around with that to get a good idea of basics. I got a free copy one day on Steam on a ucky find. I also have Godot installed.
Just no idea what to do.

@CWSmith does unreal engine cost $$$? If not, they had some pretty neat updates I saw this week, but not sure if you're familiar with it or if that would be the style of game you're into making, seeing as you mentioned Godot and RPGmaker and those are COMPLETELY different.😅
Unreal seems to be difficult to get installed in linux where as RPG Maker can run in Steam with the Proton Windows emulation and Godot is native. I honestly would prefer to stick with something open source like Godot due to the lower risk of someone at Epic or another Unity Debacle.
Mostly I am thinking of creating some RPG story type games mostly to try and get an ide of how such things go. Might be interesting.
@CWSmith ah, that makes sense. it does sound interesting! Let me know if you get one finished, I'd probably play it.
Will do. WIll probably start with RPG Maker due to it being very simple to get started and from what I can tell it is built to be more for storytellers who want to create a game with their story. Godot is open source and more complicated as an angine, but if I can actually do something... in general, it be sweet.
