   I concur with @gruber about the absurdity of this ruling.

   However, my theory is that @EU_Commission recognizes the reality that most businesses prefer #iPad over rivals.

   Another reality: #Apple will continue to dominate the tablet space until #Google or another #Andorid OEM releases a tablet with a decent UI/UX.

     @nicol @daringfireball @gruber Yeah, MacOS is open, & the rules for installing apps via third party venders is not as strict as iPhone or iPad.

     I just wish the @EU_Commission would be open & say, “We want all phones & tablets to be as open as computers when it comes to third party apps” which would remove the ambiguity behind these gatekeeper rules.

     If the #EuropeanUnion 🇪🇺 clearly stated that, #Apple would simply comply.

     Maybe I’m missing something, but as a MacOS user since System 7 - surely Apple have been demonstrating how to do just that since last century?
