@SuperDicq@kaia@magmaus3@mischievoustomato yes, but both get criticism for their UI and it just boggles my mind how someone would not like GIMP but praise Inkscape at all. Like, I get that GIMP might get some used to it, but every time i interact with inkscape it's raw pain
@SuperDicq >Anyway big GIMP UI update coming soon It was better before with GtK2, although the GtK3 version isn't too bad one you disable the damn tool groups.
@Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com Good intentions tho:My original purpose for GIMPshop was to make the GIMP accessible to the many Adobe Photoshop users out there. I hope I’ve done that. And maybe along the way, I can convert a Photoshop pirate into a GIMP user.
@Suiseiseki@freesoftwareextremist.com But yeah this stuff usually ends like all those GNU/Linux distros that try to emulate the MacOS or Windows user experience to make it "more accessible".
It never really catches on because instead of being unique and interesting it just feeling like a cheap bootleg always. It doesn't convince people to switch in any way.
Having something unique and different works way better. People also learn better in an open minded environment where they may expect things to be different instead of reassuring them "everything will be the same like you're used to" when it really isn't.
@hj@kaia@SuperDicq@magmaus3@mischievoustomato I find GIMP's UI a bit worse. I wouldn't classify using either as pain, but in Inkscape I imagine the sets of SVG objects and usually am able to do what I need. I can do a lot in GIMP too, but some things require tricky operations (like actually drawing a circle).
