Well, my opponent didn't show up so I "won" after warming up in the pit for an hour. Ah well, I learned how IBJJF works and now I get to eat. I'll set my sights on the Masters World Championship now.
Yes, that's what I thought! I asked because I sometimes felt relieved after an eagerly awaited challenge, for which I had prepared very hard after it had vanished into thin air. Puzzled and relieved. Though I didn't really know why.
As a kid I did a lot of taekwondo but I never participated in a contest. That's pretty high up on the list of things I regret not having done.
@es0mhi disappointed. i was ready to scrap. i trained hard for six weeks, managed my weight, traveled six hours round trip, and spent money on lodging/registration/etc.
it was also one of the weirdest emotions i have ever had. after putting myself in the headspace to fight and then being told there wasn't a fight, i didn't have an outlet for the energy. it took me a good hour or so to get back down to a normal resting state.
