   Come into my comments defending and excusing Netanyahu’s genocide and I will block you faster than you can scream “antisemite” at me. Members of my family are Jewish. We don’t play those games with fair criticisms of political parties and their leaders.

   On edit: To be clear, I think Israel has every right to go after Hamas. They are a serious threat to Israel and, frankly, to Palestinians. But indiscriminate killing of civilians, decimating their homes, schools, hospitals… that’s indefensible.

     @KatM agreed. I have many connections with Jewish friends and family. Many who were holocaust survivors. I’ve also been friends with people who survived the Lebanese civil wars..
     I’ve tried to not share my views on my socials in respect for peoples different life experiences and views. My apologies if I offended anyone out there in the world.

     like those we lost too young here in the US, I wonder what a different world we would be if Rabin was not killed or even if Sharon (whom I disagreed with 80% of the time) did not die early, he was on the cusp of a lasting peace deal.
     I support the human dignity of all the peoples of the region.
     I’ve been called many derogatory names in my life, I have a thick skin.
     I agree, I will also immediately block anyone who is a bully to myself or those I support.

     @oldredsubby You ought to sit around a seder table and have this convo with the many beliefs held by one Jewish family. Some loved Rabin, some thought him a traitor. It depends a lot on your connection to Israel. Our American Jewish family (also Holocaust survivors) thought him a hero for seeking a peaceful resolution. Our Israeli Jewish family, not so much. To be fair, those from Israel had experienced attacks and bombings from extremists. Harder to judge the folks living with that fear.
