Ever notice that, among zoomer video essayists, there are weird diction and syntax errors? Their speaking skills seem broken and disjointed at times.

  @pepsi_man @Ghislaine @TrevorGoodchild I think a lot of people making videos grew up watching YouTube the way older gens had TV. Just like people try to imitate the "non regional dialect" for their TV and news voice, there's people picking up the jump cut idiosyncrasies and blending them with their own poor communication skills.

  I never thought about that at all. The AI creepy pasta audio could also be a factor.

  @pepsi_man @Ghislaine @TrevorGoodchild There's also the weird meta trends that develop as channels figure out the best way to game the algorithms. This makes videos longer than they need to be with higher quality production and worse content. Random how-to videos for something simple like installing an electrical outlet end up at 8 minutes, and people fill it with garbage dialogue. In contrast, look at This Old Tony or any of the older shop guys and their vids have more information or jokes or just flat out silence with some cool close-up shots or a weld or lathe work.

  @pepsi_man @BowsacNoodle @Ghislaine Yes. It's a reflection of their internal mental state and the fact that they do not read. Ever. Their internal voice (if they have one) is limited to 30 second bursts and soundbites.
