OK....so, one of my moots whom I deeply respect PM'ed me to express opposition to my use of the term "ZioNazi" for tagging active agents & advocates of Israel's genocidal massacre and land grab of Palestine.
The claim is that the term alienates & smears anti-Zionist Jews, ahistorically ignores the direct targeting of Jewish folk through the original Holocaust by the OG German Nazis, and can be/has been abused to slander all Jewish folk in the Diaspora as accomplices in Israel's actions.

I respect and acknowledge that argument, but I must and will defend my use of that term as a perfectly legitimate and accurate phrase to define those who enact and approve of Israeli acts of slaughter and ethnic cleansing. "ZioNazi" is, for lack of a better term, perfectly fitting for the ideology and the actions perpetrated in that term...far more than even mere "fascism".

First off.... the argument that "ZioNazi" specifically targets all Jewish folk only as solely responsible for the actions of the current government of Israel, because of the special targeting of Jews by Hitler through the Holocaust. That is NOT MY INTENT. No one with a working brain cell who isn't a stone cold OG Nazi would deny the horrific reality of the Holocaust and the targeting of Jewish folk for total eradication. However, Jews were not the OG Nazis' only target for elimination.

It is in no way, shape, or form, a diminishment of the absolute horror of the Holocaust to state that other groups endured Nazi Germany's wrath. There is NO oppression competition here.

Of course, there are plenty of Jewish folk who oppose Israel's actions and who also oppose the ideological foundation of Zionism that seems to propel such expansionism and massacre. Many of them have been in the front lines of protest, risking career, livelihood & even their very lives to defend the humanity of Palestinians and the best traits of Judaism that have been bastardized by the ruling Israeli government and their lackeys throughout the world. They must be acknowledged and saluted.

And, they themselves have become a distinct target of derision, intimidation, retaliation, and, in the most extreme cases, outright elimination, by advocates of Zionist Right expansionism, both within the state of Israel and outside of it.
Just as the OG Nazis had the Night of the Long Knives to "purify" their movement of any dissent to Hitler's madness, the Zionist equivalent had the assassination of Yitzak Rabin and the recent purge of Left-leaning Knesset Parliament members.

This goes far deeper than mere "fascism"; this is the full liquidation of an entire group for their ethnicity merely to steal their land. "ZioNazism" fits perfectly; same ideology, same methods, same results, same terms.

Yes, I do acknowledge that well-meaning & respectful folks will not agree with my phrasing, and may even so strongly object to it on the grounds listed at the beginning of my essay.
So be it. I recognize & acknowlege what they are saying, but the actions that I have seen justifies the use of the term. What happened to Jews, sexual dissidents, Romani, disabled, and the Left in Nazi Germany is EXACTLY what is happening to Palestinians and Leftist Jews right now. In my view, the term fits.

Another arguement against the term is that it exclusively targets Jewish folk as the perpetrators of Zionism, since the ideology is based upon Jewish nationalism and the belief in the formation of a Jewish state as reparation for the evils of the Holocaust. There are some who will question the legitimacy of the call for a Jewish state; I am not one of them. I tend to oppose religiously based national states on cultural reactionary grounds; but that is inmaterial to this debate.

It is not a matter of debate whether Israel should or should not exist; they have existed for 60+ years, and with their military might and direct anchor support from the United States, their existence is not going to be questioned.
The issue is the government's treatment of the native Palestinian population & the thinly veiled desires of right-wing Zionists for expansion into other countries in a "Ersatz Israel" (Greater Israel) encompassing their surrounding Arab neighboring countries.

But even if Zionism's primary benefactors happen to be Jews, the movement itself was founded not by Jews, but by Christians motivated partly by guilt about the Holocaust & partly by their desires to expunge their own native Jewish populations.
It wasn't until the end of WW2 that the ideology of Zionism was adapted by Jewish leaders such as Theodore Herztl & David Ben Guiron as the foundation for a standalone Jewish homeland, that culimnated in the founding of the state of Israel in 1948.

@AnthonyJK note that the definition of "Zionism" varies by person, which may be leading to confusion. I know many Jews who are pro-Palestinian-rights and anti-genocide, and who consider themselves Zionist; they see Zionism as the right of Jews to have a homeland in Israel, not against Palestinians having a homeland too, and not in support of e.g. the invading settlements. (I don't have time ATM for a full discussion, sorry, but thought I'd mention this since I didn't see it elsewhere.)

My use of the term "ZioNazi" is restricted solely to those Zionists who are openly supporting or abetting the current genocide in Gaza or the invasion of Gaza for illegal settlements. I also temper the phrase with the denominator "right-wing Zionists" to make explicit who I am talking about.
Hopefully, that makes it clear for everyone.
