   I’m in favor of banning TikTok not because of the supposed threat of government level backdoor spyware, and sophisticated espionage. No, no. I’m in favor of banning TikTok because it makes me weep even harder for mankind with each new “trend” where idiots do idiotic things, inspiring other idiots to do even more idiocy.

     @Streakmachine Also it blatantly violates the First Amendment to boot plus there's zero true evidence to justify a ban.

     This would surely anger young voters and it won't look good for either party.

     @joeo10 Could be, but I’m neither knowledgeable enough about law, and I’m not a citizen of the USA.

     But in general, banning things doesn’t make them magically go away, rather the opposite.
