     @lanodan@queer.hacktivis.me @kaia@brotka.st idk what kaia wants to do, but sed usually works great for most use cases for me tbh. never really had to resort to something else :neocat_googly_woozy:

     @puniko @kaia Yeah, I've written some slightly obscure sed few times though. (like almost nobody uses {}-blocks to group sed commands but it's pretty useful sometimes)

     awk is a great tool once you get comfortable with it — and that's its problem: it only makes sense to use it when you have to do lots of such processing, when such an opportunity arises, you usually have already forgotten its syntax completely and it's more practical to use a shell script with sed 😩
