   @splendorr yes, it was a very interestingly huge swerve in terms of a sequel to Reamde.

   I generally enjoy a lot of his stuff, the times i find it hard going is only when he gets deep in the weeds overly describing complex things, like the architecture in Anathem or writing from Daniel Waterhouse's perspective in the Baroque Cycle when he's enthusing about science.

     @siege Did you “enjoy” the book?? I’ve read most of his novels in the last year and keep being surprised how much I like them, I guess because they’re so different that I keep expecting one to flop. But not yet!
