any reporting on election results that doesn’t factor in how they’re gerrymandered is malpractice

gently pleading:

instead of saying a team was “hit by layoffs.”

or “I was impacted by layoffs”

please say, “This team was fired by” or “I was fired by“ and then insert [bastards / oligarchs / greed ghouls / huge dummies]

layoffs aren’t natural occurrences. they’re decisions, and are Done By People

taking my meds at 9:30 so that my brain will maybe calmly shut down by 1am so i can wake up at 8:30 to do a day of tedious and unpleasant work to make enough money for my meds

read a lot of dc comics lately, after just owning 3 robin comics from 1994 & thinking catwoman was a risky but good idea.

my takeaways:
- most of the big stories are trash; chasing Crisis is a disorder
- kirby needed a saddle
- too many green lanterns. cut it out
- kill green arrow
- neat comics

Either as a front-end #Webdev, where after 20 years I know how to do wild things with css and js. I’m also good at app logic, but loooove making stuff move and sing.

I’m hoping I can find work in #GameDev, programming or design/scripting. I wrote most of the code for Spellcorked in #Playdate Season One, have deep #Lua experience, and am studying #UnrealEngine.

around a year ago, I condensed a 2-bedroom apt i was lucky to afford into a single room, and stuffed a bunch of boxes into an attic space. every couple weeks I look for something and can’t find it. my old landlord wouldn’t let me out of the lease, so I’m still paying rent on the old place through july! FUCK

i have become a sad old sack of regrets and faded, mediocre semi-glory, struggling under debt and work that stifles every good thing about me

well!!! guess I’ll shut off my brain and try again tomorrow

I tried to start recording myself reading house of leaves today, but I needed to find my audio interface. 2 sweaty hours of digging through storage boxes later, I didn’t find it, feel old as shit, and am just going to take a bath instead

I didn’t want to be a programmer. I didn’t want to sit here every day doing corporate bullshit so I could break even every month as I keep drowning in debt. I accidentally got good at code, and accidentally got this job at a crucial moment of survival. I feel sick about still being at the edge of survival, many years later.
