@PossiblyMax
Peacock butterfly.
Probably just getting going after overwintering (so maybe ragged from previous year, if not by feline depredations)

Max (possiblymax@hachyderm.io)'s status on Tuesday, 09-Apr-2024 17:03:51 JST Max Yesterday afternoon one of my cats was scratching on a log in our back yard, turns out he had cornered a moth!
He pulled it out to path where I took it from him for a photo, then let it out where it flew away. It looked a bit ragged but I don't know how much was from Helix or on purpose, but it seemed to fly OK.
No idea what kind of moth it was, but it was large and pretty! #moth #cat
