@catsalad Oh boy. I've had the misfortune to have developed an Eclipse plugin. The internal API's are like if someone read the design patterns book, asked themselves which ones actually make sense in the context of their software and said Yes Please.

I can imagine a lot of code out there that didn't restrict itself like that. I've heard the accusation thrown at Libre/OpenOffice, but I don't have first-hand experience.

Let's just say that the code examples use a list of currencies, one of which being DEM. Which should tell you something about when they were developed.
