@dansup Fuck then all dude.
You’re doing a great job, don’t let anyone feel like you’re not doing enough.

@dansup @ravi you might take it as advice offered in good faith. But more often than not, it's just the misplaced sense of entitlement on the users' part.
We've seen what that does to projects and devs' morale.
@dansup If projects stall, users get worried or upset, even entitled. (That's so weird.)
You're right that there's a message in this: people fear momentum is going down.
Thing is: you're not only the core maintainer, you're also the core ideator of stuff. You can't ideate while you maintain.
One solution is to schedule time while trying not to spread yourself too thin.
Another could be to split the work and "hire" unpaid open source maintainers.
Or listen less to complaints :)
@dansup
Hmmm... While it makes sense, what your projects might really need are more funds and devs. Surely you're not enough butter to spread over so much bread, but it's your choice and if anything your initiative should inspire others to lend a hand instead of asking you to work more or differently.
@dansup Considering true feedback is wise. Filter the negative off-flavor. Everyone is grateful, or should be.
@dansup glad you acknowledge shortcomings and take criticism in a positive way, rarely seen in opensource maintainers nowadays
@dansup it’s easy to spread yourself too thin at times. Personally I think you’re doing a great job but sometimes a readjustment of priorities is a good thing. Just don’t burn yourself out though, downtime is important too
Your work is going to liberate a lot of people, thank you
@dansup I still don’t understand why you care about what other people say.
@starborn I care because I want pixelfed to be the best it can be.
The project belongs to everyone, and I want to be able to put my own ego aside and appreciate even the worst feedback if it can help improve our project.
@dansup meh chill, you are good. 😉
@dansup The struggle of every developer 😅
@dansup whatever your current priorities and interests are, we are owed nothing.
I would like to express how thankful I am for everything you have put out in the world already.
Hey, some people would ask for a lot of things, when you're basically helping them for free, and giving zero guarantee of success/completion.
@dansup you don’t have to be feeling sorry. You’re providing a valuable service that we all get for free. So, we should be thankful to you. It’s good to rest as well, from time to time 😉
