   @brennen gitlab sucking the oxygen out of the room that should have gone to gitea/forgejo is a damn shame

   everyone looks at how bad gitlab is and assumes it must be impossibly annoying to move off github when in fact it's quite smooth if you just ignore gitlab

     tangential to my earlier ranting about matrix, it's similarly too bad that the energy and resources that have gone into creating a gitlab didn't instead build something that was a) actually open, and b) in any way fit for purpose.
