   I think it's really funny how the past few years have been people talking about funding open-source, open-source dev burnout, open-source "supply chains"... like has no one figured out yet that we've reached the stage of the empire rotting where capital is now relying on expropriating the unpaid labor of own citizens in order to create new markets? the tech industry is the only industry the United $$tates has left that it hasn't offshored to exploited third world labor, is largely not even profitable, and also has only been made possible by enclosing the digital commons
   
   genuinely surprises me that there's not a single Marxist economist talking about this as far as I know, but then again academics tend to be irrelevant fuckwads who aren't engaged in anything actually happening in the world
