   @thomasfuchs weren't MIDI & joystick ports interchangeable? I seem to remember having a combination midi/joystick port on my sound card...at that time, joystick ports were uncommon on the MB...

     You're probably not he only person with old MIDI equipment they've picked up and some nostalgia fetish for a 286 with an ESS audiodrive SoundBlaster clone.
     
     ...plus these things are usually just assembled on demand. There's no stock. You order it and they pull the parts out of a bin and solder them according to a diagram.
