   If human civilization ever collapsed, I have no doubt packs of feral dogs would become the dominant species in most places. Being able to cooperate is key.

     People underestimate dogs. They might not be the biggest or baddest or smartest, but they're social pack animals. I see how effective they can be every day when I take @luna to the park. She and her friends might be a bunch of little dogs, but they'll surround much bigger dogs to scare them off their turf with constant success.
