      Die Umlaute fehlen, aber sie klingen so schön, dass wir sie mit Bedeutung füllen sollten.

      "Zücken" finde ich besonders leicht:

      Da "entzücken" ja "sich plötzlich an etwas freuen" ist, ist zücken wohl "langweilen und nerven".

      Die Diskussion mit Friedrich Merz zückt mich jetzt ganz schön.

      Ich zunächst auch nicht.
      Aber am Ende des Tages ist da für Deutsch der Duden die Messlatte. Er hat z.B. sehr viele Eigenarten aus dem süddeutschen Raum, Österreich und der Schweiz.

      Wenn mir jemand schreibt, dass "zöcken" auch z.B. in Brandenburg und nicht nur in "3 Dörfern" üblich ist, wäre das auch noch ok für mich.

      Anders gesagt:
      Wenn die überwiegende Mehrheit (》2/3?) der Muttersprachler--quer durch alle Altersgruppen--nachfragen muss, was das heißt, dann ist es einfach inkorrekt

      Ok. Dennoch sondern die Umlaute im Deutschen vollwertige Vokale:

      "Deutschen gibt es die gerundeten Vokale ü [y,ʏ], ö [ø,œ], o [o,ɔ] und u [u,ʊ] und die ungerundeten a [⁠a⁠], e [ɛ,e] und i [i,ɪ]. "

      Dies wird einem so richtig klar, wenn man sich anschaut , wie Vokale in europäischen Sprachen gebildet werden:

      Rein phonetisch sind die Umlaute natürlich schon Vokale.

      Man rechnet sie halt nur nicht dazu.

      Ich meinte auf jeden Fall nur a, e, i, o und u.

      Ich wollte eigentlich einwenden dass #Schweizerdeutsch eine eigene Sprache wäre und "zöcken" deshalb nicht zählte, sber gut, das ich nachgesehen habe 😉:

      "Aus sprachwissenschaftlicher Sicht gibt es keine Sprachgrenzen zwischen den alemannischen Dialekten des Schweizerdeutschen und den übrigen alemannischen (Elsass, Baden-Württemberg, das bayerische Schwaben, Vorarlberg, Liechtenstein, Walsersiedlungen) beziehungsweise...
