@silas God made paradise, evil entered into mankind and the world through Adam's failure to not do one simple thing (do not eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil), and God created a plan for redemption which allowed for free will and the choice of acceptance or rejection of His gift.
@givenup@silas You could have a padded room full of toys and only one tiny "do not touch" button and unlimited play time and candy, and you know it wouldn't take long before the kids got curious and pressed it.
@BowsacNoodle@silas it wasn't hard to reason out why God gave men their free will, because a choice to love him made from their own decision is real, automatons can't make decisions that have any real meaning.
@givenup@BowsacNoodle if I had more time I would be annoying and read the bible and make a podcast about it. I want to comment on every single line. And maybe it would document my spiritual awakening. I don't think it will but that would be interesting too.
@silas@givenup You won't do it. Doing that with any sort of serious attempt would cause radical changes in you. I expect you'd give up pretty quickly or convert.
@givenup@Xenophon@silas >Adam and Eve eat fruit from a specific tree. Literally the only thing they're not supposed to do. God shows up. Oh no we're naked let's grab some fig leafs and make undies! Thousands of years later: "I GUESS THE FRUIT WAS AN APPLE LOL!"
@BowsacNoodle@Xenophon@silas i always just presumed since it was a special tree that literally gave them knowlege and stuff, it wasn't any fruit we ever have had on earth since the garden of eden was removed, why? cuz why not, it don't matter what it was specifically to my faith in Jesus afterall.
@givenup@Xenophon@silas Yeah it doesn't matter. What does matter is that it was a fruit and the translations all indicate it was fruit and not serpent Sneed.
@givenup@Xenophon@silas Maybe they did and it was a tree or perpetuality rather than one and done immortality. This would explain why they had to get out and also why they loved a very long time, along with their kids. I don't know and I have been meaning to reread Genesis but that's after Holy Week for me.
@BowsacNoodle@Xenophon@silas i thought there was an implication that if they had eaten of the tree o flife instead that would ahve bene alright but i dunno, it's been a long time sinc ei heard any talks on that.
@BowsacNoodle@Xenophon@silas well God specifically says "they have to go lest they also eat from the tree of life", implying that it would be permanent, i know you can see the allusions to Jesus throughout the old testament like Jesus offers eternal life you know? it's all ocnnected and stuff BUT i ain't good at saiyng it
@silas@BowsacNoodle God gave his creations free choice. God wants his creations to experience Love, but Love requires it be freely given. God creating a reality of automatons that had no choice but to love him would defeat the purpose of making things in his own image, and be a pointless existence for those creations.
The nature of freedom is being able to choose between following God's will and rejecting it. Rejecting God's will is Evil. This is what the Enemy and the demons did, and this is what they want to do to all humans -- convince us to sin, convince us to reject God. Demons want to make you more like a demon, which is precisely what is happening to Trans people -- they are people, with the freedom to be able to choose, who are influenced by demons to reject God.
They love their sin so much they make their sin part of their identity, and mutilate their bodies to further embrace their sin and make themselves more like the demons. But they are entirely free to do that in this life, since they were created with free will. Obviously there will be consequences, but those don't matter to them right now. Even the consequences of growing old in mutilated bodies doesn't bother the transcult, to say nothing of the next life.
Ultimately you can't have freedom to love God and at the same time no sin. If you are able to love, you are also able to reject that love and embrace sin.
@Xenophon@Dudebro@Ravana@silas@givenup You're basing this off of Genesis 2:15 and the implied "protect" or "guard" from cultivate and tend, with the implication of [protect from what?] I assume?
Serpents sneed, as bowsac likes to call it. Even the jews understand the truth. Adam is a type of man, but not all men are Adam. But if you dont want to see it, you never will, and ive learned my lesson about trying to convince people.
Could be due that the family is the only ones of holy lineage and he lost all divine protection. Adam and Eve were made in Gods image it doesnt mean all humanoids were.
