@kaia my understanding is someone's instance was scheduled to be wiped off the face of the earth due to a yuri image reported as csam via cloudflare abuse reporting
@kaia@brotka.st they made nsfw stuff against their terms of service, which means a bunch of fedi instances hosted there are now breaking the rules. I also heard they got rid of a post featuring yuri under the description that it was apparently child porn (it wasn't, and apparently it wasn't even that lewd)
@kaia@squidink7 someone told me it was already against their terms of service but they just started enforcing it recently (supposedly at the behest of cloudflare)
@Moon@squidink7 makes sense. I presume the hoster is incentivized to remove most content reported. imagine the inverse: hoster gets charged by German police after someone reports it and media falsely reports "Hetzner refuses to remove CSAM stuff that was reported to them". much worse outcome
@Moon@shitposter.club@kaia@brotka.st gonna make an alt here to start posting the most lewd/gay stuff imaginable to piss off cloudflare where they can't get to me :neocat_devil:
@kaia@squidink7 the whole thing seems kind of murky, I am not sure we really know 100% what's going on but I wish hetzner didn't have the policies. also it's going to make it easy for someone to mess with fedi instances by reporting them
@kaia@brotka.st@Moon@shitposter.club We should band together to buy a small patch of land somewhere in the world and declare it its own country, just to fill it with servers hosting fedi instances so they can be entirely unregulated
