   This is why I don't take the outrage over loli drawings in the jewmerican sphere seriously. If you are seriously mad over drawings, then you would be out murdering enablers of child rape (e.g. every politician) right now. Given that you're not doing that I can't take your impotent screeching seriously.

     @HyperboreanWave It seems like such a non-issue to me. Like, what percentage of loli anime out there in comparison to all other anime? I don't think it's very common, it's an extremely niche thing, and the most likely reason anyone knows about it is mostly because of other people crying about it.
     
     What I think they're really complaining about is how openly sexual anime is. Japan, till recently, was a lot more cool with nudity (both sexual and non-sexual), and most of these shows are targeted towards the young adult audience. It's would be like saying books like Twilight are lolicon, or that an adult is a pedo for reading it. In that sense, it feels like well poisoning to me.

     @Elliptica @HyperboreanWave I think the internet gives Westerners a warped view about how popular and available hentai anime in general, much less lolicon/shotacon is in Japan. Sure, you can go down some shady alleyway in Akihabara and get it, but it's not like they're selling the stuff at Donki. On the internet, though, it's free and just a click away after typing tsumino dot com.

     @caekislove @Elliptica @HyperboreanWave The only culture that people export is what people want to buy or what people want to push. I have no idea what actual life is like for a working class Chinese peasant farmer or a lower middle class Swede. I've seen Planet Earth, and I can read a random anon post, but who knows if either of those paint accurate pictures. similarly, I wouldn't expect a random Saudi or South Korean to understand Appalachia or Midwest Americana outside of King Of The Hill or some random blogger with their own views and colored narrative.

     @HyperboreanWave America has a hypersexuality element with puritanical roots baked of repression baked in. Much of the modern stuff is jewish, but a fair bit is just from social decay in the wake of boomers raising kids on TV without the moral codes in place that existed when they were kids.
