@Migueldeicaza People have managed fine with running software on computers for the last 45 years.
Yes, some bad stuff happens on computers like viruses and extortion and whatever, but overall people are doing OK.
The whole forced App Store thing is a farce; especially as the promise of "higher quality" is frankly bullshit judging by the history of what apps go through and which don't.
Apple can still compete on the merits of the App Store, and most people will choose them.

@thomasfuchs @Migueldeicaza 1) I have my own opinions on how "OK" people are doing on their computers.
2) I think the dangers inherent in a compromised device that is in your pocket with access to your location at all times and that is literally used as a substitute for credit cards are significantly greater than those when your desktop computer is compromised.
