Ok, so I just tried writing a text in #Apostrophe for the first time, and here are some thoughts
- The headerbar is quite concrete and intruding with its 3dmentionality and all the buttons. I guess this is mostly the fault of an old libadwaita which will be updated, right? Thankfully it can autohide, which is brilliant!
- No way to autosave is crazy, right?
- The same is the fact that you can only choose normal or large text size, let me choose whatever increment I want

- Focus mode is beautiful. Well, at least the part where it keeps your current line in the middle of the window at all times. I can't be the only one that can't stand to type at the very bottom of the window? I need my whitespace! Not 100% sure what I feel about the graying out of all other lines than the one you're interacting with. While typing it's ok, but if you have to go back and change anything the switching of focus between lines is a bit jarring? Maybe if the contrast was a bit less?

- The scrollbar should only show up when you're actually scrolling. The fact that it shows up every time you type such that the line changes is unnecessary. But it's impressive that it's so subtle that I didn't notice very often.
- It's nice that the Open dialog knows about my most recently interacted with files. But should it really list all my latest screenshots? I vote no. Only text files, please.
- The fact that you can export in lots of formats is nice. That .txt is not one of them…?

- Seems strange that the default format is not plain markdown, but a version of md. But I'm no md expert, for all I know that version is the most common?
Things that would be nice:
- Import color schemes
- Mark search results in scrollbar
- "Inline preview" (show both the markdown-code and the effect it has)
- A ToC sidebar? A library? Too much?
Overall, it was a good experience writing in #Apostrophe. But as a #Gnome Circle app it needs a bit more work IMO, but I think that's happening :)

@forteller I mean, it's a markdown file. It's already encoded in the same way as a text file, you can just rename it if you need to use it somewhere else 😄️

@bragefuglseth Sure, yes. But .txt is the most portable, and if you're writing a lot that becomes a lot of files to have to rename.

@forteller Jobber meg gjennom Circle-appene og GNOME-kjerneappene parallelt nå, så kommer definitivt til å ta fatt på Apostrophe en gang og! Tenker kanskje det er lurt å vente til GTK4-oppdateringen er forestående 😁

@forteller bare å glede seg til GNOME 46 - høydepunktene inkluderer at Files, Software, Settings og hele GNOME Shell har fått flunkende nye og fullt dekkende oversettelser, og at datoen i topplinjen endelig blir korrekt formatert etter norsk rettskrivning! (fra mars 17 til 17. mars) 😁

Hva med det problemet med at når du installerer en Gnome-basert distro med mer enn ett språk, så får du opp sånn "språkstøtte er bare delvis installert"-greie når du starter OSet, og så installerer den ordbok på alle varianter av engelsk, vet du om noen jobber med det?
Ganske sikker på at det skjer med de fleste Gnome-baserte distros ihvertfall, og ikke bare alle jeg har installert.
