Not related at all, but I found a really cracked free and open source photo editor a few weeks ago which is probably the only serious competition to Photoshop in the FOSS space. The catch? It's a one man project written in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 and as such is 32 bit only and single threaded with the only officially supported operating systems being Windows XP and later.
