Paradox (paradox@raru.re)'s status on Saturday, 16-Mar-2024 04:31:02 JST Paradox @Rasp I mean I was homeschooled through middle and high school.
But also I mostly taught myself, because I could. I have a brother that needed more help, and my mom doesn't need to work so she stayed at home and helped him.
Depends on the kid, depends on the parent. Gotta invest time into figuring out how to make it work, gotta be able to invest the time.
Public school kinda doubles as a daycare. Alternative schooling is weird and flexible, but it takes some fucking effort. Shouldn't be married to the idea. Send your kids to school if you can't afford to spend time and effort working with them to figure out how to make an at-home education work.
I do have sympathy for kids that experience a lot of trouble at school, though. -
