   Because you will be applying for citizenship presumably under your real (ie not dead) name, I would check with a lawyer. You may need to travel under your deadname while it's the only official ID you have but otherwise using your real name should be fine.

     @Antiqueight @Tarbh I'm happy to travel under deadname if needed.

     Someone sent me on another platform links for maiden names. Apparently it isn't an issue to travel with a maiden name either if you still have an old passport. I guess my case would be similar.
