@joeo10 I’m aware. I’m generally in agreement with @mmasnick, but I diverge here. It’s not a ban, but a forced sale. No one would support letting Putin buy Comcast or ABC news. Tiktok isn’t just any business. It’s a massive cultural influencer without precedent. The risks are not imaginary.

In addition, this bill is blatantly unconstitutional to boot due to First Amendment issues and Meta/Facebook are lobbying very hard for such a ban so they can solidify their dominant position in social media, no secret there.
