   It will unfortunately be decades before we truly know what internal battles were fought in the US diplomatic core over Netanyahu’s genocidal agenda. I imagine there are moments of heroism and ugliness we can scarcely imagine now from where we sit.

     Yeah, Netanyahu is a mix of cynical political calculation and ideological certitude that’s extremely dangerous.

     As for Biden, I’m not sure it’s clear what he thought. He came out with some hair-raisingly pointed warnings (esp his “US fucked up after 9/11, now you’re about to do the same thing” speech each on) and some hair-raisingly unconditional support that suggest internal WH battles we barely see. Not even sure his personal feelings are relevant.

     I wish Netanyahu were a sociopath. Unfortunately he's a desperate criminal looking for a distraction, any distraction, from his corruption charges and security fuckups. Biden clearly thought Netanyahu would rise to the occasion or at least not try to start World War fucking III to cover his own ass, at least at first.
