   Look at the people at your job. Look at how incompetent management is. Look at how little your coworkers care about their job outside of getting a paycheck. Look at all the little fuck-ups and cut corners everyone does and then drill it into your head that everybody in every industry does that. Ask yourself if you really trust every single person in the production and logistics chains to NOT fuck something up. We're talking medical, we're talking transportation, we're talking infrastructure. And it's only getting worse.

     It would be wise to invest in things that are easy to repair/maintain on your own with as little help from outside as possible. Things like an older car with plenty of space in the engine bay and fewer electronics, with widespread parts availability.
