@thomasfuchs there is also a "tv audio" problem, with shows being re-re-re-transcoded and then transmitted in a sub-channel with fuckall bits allocated to it.
@rotopenguin well yeah that* doesn’t make it better, my point is though that audio mixes are terrible to begin with. (Do sound engineers think everyone has high-end reference equipment at home?)
*I know especially in UK and Europe there’s extreme overcompression with terrestrial digital TV and radio
@acsawdey it’s somehow worse, because at least with music you often don’t have an expectation that you can understand what they’re singing or it’s not super important
