   "In January 2024, in response to key stakeholder guidance from GLAAD, IFTAS (the non-profit supporting the Fediverse moderator community) crafted sample policy language and implemented an “IFTAS LGBTQ+ Safety Server Pledge” system for the Fediverse, in which servers can sign-on confirming they have incorporated a policy provision prohibiting both targeted misgendering and deadnaming and the promotion of so-called “conversion therapy” content."

     @tess @tchambers I think the issue is while there is a relatively blanket acceptance of the "no transphobia" rule across Mastodon service providers in general, this is specifically with regard to GLAAD's advocacy for explicit prohibitions of these specific targeted actions. For that, very few of the largest, most active Mastodon services have adopted these rules (4 of the largest 20).

     Our pledge has garnered 43 signatures, representing about 6% of all Fediverse accounts.

     We'd love to see more!

     @tchambers @iftas it's weird that they list "Mastodon" as a single entity - and one that's non-confirming - when the pledge was created for fedi?

     It not even wrong, it's just incredibly misleading.
