The problem with bias is its both directional, and the person afflicted by it is by that same affliction unable to be aware of it.
So is science biased, yea, its run by people, there is plenty of bias corrupting it all over the place. But I'd rather trust the people trying to be objective than the people who arent.

Not sure if this is a compliment or an insult but I assure you the thought of you at no point crossed my mind as I was saying this.
I was just reflecting on my own opinion how I see tons of things all the time in science that I disagree with and feel is motivated largely by social biases. But I recognize despite that science tends to do pretty good compared to your random schmuck. And moreover its perfectly ok to have the opinion certain areas are bias as long as you take your own assesment with a grain of salt because maybe you are biased. so I guess, a warning to myself to tread with caution.

@freemo wait .. uhh .. is this a comment on my use of "bias" in yesterday's posts? If so, I meant bias as in an epsilon deviation such that any interaction between atoms (or quarks or whichever unitary concept) is not/no longer equally likely. .. I'm not sure I'm on the same page now. 😅😁 (sry, not currently in the same mindset so I'm expressing myself less precisely)
