    Yeah, pretty much agree with this entire @JuliusGoat thread (so far anyway, seems it’s still incoming):

      My concern is the false dichotomy that to grapple with the one problem means not being able to grapple with the other—or that both are equal and identical problems—which strikes me as positions that only benefit those who would rather see no problems solved.

      @inthehands @JuliusGoat I think one thing that drives the sentiment to refocus on Trump when Biden faces legit criticism (Gaza) is that people don't know what leverage they have that isn't electoral, "vote the bum out" when that would be a _disaster_. What public check exists when you can't afford to withdraw your vote for Biden/Dems? Good people worry that being too critical will scare away needed voters.

      @raven667 @JuliusGoat
      I think that’s spot on. We need more ways for people to feel individual political agency.

      @inthehands @JuliusGoat that's hard because voting is a collective activity and you rarely get everything you want. The feedback loop is too long for most people to correlate cause and effect, especially when there is an industry of propaganda throwing chaff to ensure that people don't. An unrealistic expectation that people feel is that they elect their fave and all the problems are solved; the bad guys go to jail the good guys win, the crowd cheers. That's not real life, that's a movie.
