Bitcoin Magazine printed a picture of him edited to look like a pig. A man who is starving in prison because he refuses to eat food that harms animals. This guy is really the number one enemy of Bitcoin? Not the actual most powerful people in the world? It feels forced.
@sneeden Say something substantial I can't already read in Reddit comments. There are already a million comments agreeing with you. I just some critical thinking is helpful at times.
@alex He's admitted in private conversations to be a manipulator, he says and does things merely because that makes people like him and let him get away with stuff. Manipulation is not something good people do, it's not something foolish people do, it's what evil ones do. You'd have a point if your were talking about someone like the Silk Road guy, not this dude.
The article you link exists to make people fell bad for him. You're sympathizing with him because he happens to be vegan and you're falling into his game. He genuinely believes people ate beneath him and his actions reflect that.
@sneeden I don't buy into that. It seems like what an autistic person who read How To Win Friends and Influence People would say in a braggy way. If he was a fake he would eat meat in prison.
Regarding the Silk Road guy, they were trying to charge him with murder because he supposedly hired a hitman. They couldn't get him for it. The worst allegation between that guy and this guy aren't even comparable. If anything I'd say anti-vegan bias is making you fall for it.
@sneeden How is it fake tears though? They are simply reporting on the man's actual struggles. My point is that he is simply being himself, there's no manipulation to be done.
@alex you misunderstood what I'm saying. I never said his veganism was fake, I'm saying that his "feel sorry for me"" pr strategy is meant to improve public opinion of him and that it's working on you specifically because knowing that he's vegan has made you feel sympathy for him.
@alex He had all the accomodations he needed back when he was on house arrest, then he thought he was smarter than everyone again and tried to mess with witnesses in his trial. Now he's dealing with the consequences of his own actions and crying about it.
He’s the scion of DNC political operatives, which is how he got to control so much money so young to begin with… Also how they got ActBlue to take bribes in the front door. I don’t know if any (D) that gave any of that money back, but 2-3 claimed to do so… Bankrolled the entire party for 2020.
He's still scapegoated though. That's never a good thing. Because it means one guilty person receives the punishment of all guilty people, even the ones who aren't caught.
@alex He made a lot of people look very stupid and was on the verge of becoming another evil person with a lot of power. The difference between him and Madoff is just how much smaller of a world crypto is and how much of a substantial portion FTX was vs Madoffs’ enterprise. There were media puff-pieces heralding this guy as golden-boy up until the minute he got found out.
