I keep seeing media reports about all the things proven to "lift your mood and improve mental health." I do not see similar media reports about all the things that grind people down and cause them to suffer. Without enough money to live on, people get depressed. No amount of walks in the countryside are going to be able to counteract that one fact. #MinimumIncomeGuarantee#CorruptToriesUnfitToGovern #TheUKisFallingApart
@FiStitchWitch The way its always framed as something you have control over just pisses me off. If only you do XY and Z, you will improve your mental health. Implication is that if folk are depressed or anxious, it's because they didn't try hard enough. It's a pile of poo.
@CloudyMrs The walk is good at the time, but then you get back home and reality kicks in again - not enough money to survive with, a government trying to wipe you out cause your disabled/single parent/not a tory, the state of the education system, struggling nhs, state of the world....depression kicks in, physical health problems start, the constant battle. Its a vicious cycle. But yeah, just walk it off.
@muminitaly I don't either. It's been shut down entirely. WE have been shut down entirely. And that short trousered wee nyaff bangs on about threats to democracy. He wouldn't know democracy if it bit him on his skinny wee arse.
@CloudyMrs In fact, walking in the countryside burns calories that you'd want to use for something else, and thus needs food to replace, which costs money. Deeper down the depression spiral we go!
