     Your metric for if it makes a difference or not is incorrect. The continued degradation of Israel's and America's public images is difference. It being a media spectacle in itself and CNN, BBC, NYT, NYP, etc repeating that a man died burning to death shouting free palestine, is significant. There is global coverage of this.
     
     The single act itself need not reshape the entire media political landscape.

     None of this matters at all. An American soldier burned himself alive on camera outside the Israeli embassy rather than serve Israel. He's dead and his deed is done. He IS a martyr for that cause. It's not up to us whether he is one or not and it's irrelevant either way. Mock Israel for their golems setting themselves on fire rather than serve.
