     I set my "system" volume to 0.
     When I open volume mixer, it keeps all system sounds to 0.

     But, as soon as I try to change volume with volume mixer off, I HEAR SUCH A LOUD BEEP!!!!

     @LukeAlmighty @jonossaseuraava @Hoss biggest reason probably because you probably only interacted with gentoo-level autists.
     
     But reality is, commandline tools on *nix systems are plentiful and their quality is exceptional. Commandline tools on windows are scarce, barebones and outright crap, or as it in many cases, nonexistent.
     
     Commandline on windows is nice adition, commandline on linux is "the fallback". GUI for the longest time was the opposite on the platforms. Problem with gui is that sometimes you need something either advanced or you need something automated, but most GUI applications don't have "a console" and if they do, it usually sucks even worse than cmd.exe.
