   Well, I received a reply to my open letter to the #ARRL. It was defensive, and said that my call for a position statement on inclusive ham radio was "political" and they would make no such statement.

   I need to process and think about it before deciding what to do, but this is disheartening to say the least.

   I may just be done with the League altogether.

     @bud_t @N1ZZZ Gotta agree with you there. It's not really a thought experiment, because you do those without performing real-world activities. So, this is really "as an experiment". And what's it going to reveal? That ham radio isn't inclusive? I've known that for the 20 years I've been in the hobby.

     As a thought experiment, have you considered posting this letter on "the Zed?" I'm guessing the response to it would be quite different than you get on here.

     @N1ZZZ @bud_t Ah, gotcha. Yes, I think we all agree on the very unpleasant truth about the state of the hobby's internal culture in the US.

     I guess I was thinking that it's an idea to post it without going through with it.

     We all have a good hypothesis, and I agree with you on what the likely outcome would be.

     The 2nd layer of this is to show why the ARRL will not make an inclusion statement now or in the near future; it would trigger much of their demographic (both members and potential members).

     Change will have to come from the bottom as has been mentioned in this thread.
