   @joehill @SmudgeTheInsultCat and then in the original language the key word of interest/conflict always has 20 meanings

     @chfour @joehill @SmudgeTheInsultCat unfortunately the original Hebrew says that they "shall be killed" without specifying the method, so I think I prefer the one that can be interpreted as getting high better.
     
     Then again Christianity seems to pick and choose whatever the heck it wants from the original Torah without much of a care for consistency, so :blobcatshrug:

     I was thinking about that response, "that isn't what that means", and the fact that that person is trusting whoever translated that verse.

     Which then made me think of the folks who claim that the Bible is the literal word of God - but are not reading it in the original language.

     If you're reading a translation - it's literally not the word of God. It's someone's interpretation of it in another language.
