    Is there really no alt text field in the metadata of image files, so that whatever you write there can be automatically detected by websites and apps and prefill the alt text field there, so you don't have to write it out every time you use the file?

      @older @forteller That assumes the description is appropriate alt text for the audience. I've seen it used for keywords.
