   @oliphant I would not implement it as a firehose. I'd expect it to be an actor-to-actor subscription mechanism.

   @snarfed.org is the bridge between BS and AP a firehose?

   Also, do you support the `Flag` activity for flagging problematic BS users and/or content?

     @oliphant w/r/t the Twitter bridges, I think the big difference is that this would be a two-way bridge; you'd be able to talk to people on BS directly, comment on their posts, and so on.

     @tony @oliphant @snarfed.org it's so weird that you're speculating about how it's going to work, when the code is Open Source and available on GitHub: https://github.com/snarfed/bridgy I don't see a way to enumerate all users on the fediverse; that would be wildly hard to do.

     @evan @oliphant @snarfed.org Bluesky has algorithms which grab accounts and suggest them.. I presume when it federates it'll be caching lists of users and pushing them onto timelines as it does now..except now with potentially access to the entire fediverse..

     This gateway is presumably going to appear to bluesky to be a single mega instance with 14 milllion users on it.. madness ensues.

     @tony @oliphant @snarfed.org well, you don't have to have a way to enumerate users on an instance in ActivityPub. Maybe that's required in the BS protocol; I dunno.

     @evan @oliphant @snarfed.org Indeed but it would have to given that it's proposed to be a single instance.
     It's also going to need insane amounts of bandwidth.. being a central pipe for potentially millions of messages is not cheap.

     Much better would have been a per mastodon instance relay, but this is the path they have chosen.
