   @thomasfuchs proprietary software does come with the danger of potential monetization, though. ie I use tailscale and I like it a lot but I worry they're going to start charging basic users someday

     @thomasfuchs I understand having a strong preference for free software, but I think too many people who are dogmatic about it fail to understand how people work differently than them, or how entire *fields* operate.
