   @kilroy_was_here I keep a loose connection to my local club, but as someone who's very visibly trans, I don't feel all that comfortable around all the conservative Christian men, Libertarians, and militia/prepper types.

     @kilroy_was_here Credit where it's due... I've seen them be awfully charitable. I'm just living a foreign life to them and it's not going to be a fun time. Ever tried out the Pride radio online community?

     That's the same reason I'll never go back to my local club. Trying to assert myself in a space full of gun-toting religious conservatives probably wouldn't go well. Trying to get them to understand what "nonbinary" and "asexual" mean would probably go over just as well.

     @kilroy_was_here If you're in the US, they have an Echolink net that's easy enough to make. It's Saturday at like 21:00 Eastern I think.

     I did, a couple years ago. Most of the members were from Australia at the time, at least the active ones, and I couldn't break through the time difference. I'd be asleep when there would be action and when I tried to reply or get a discussion going, everybody else was asleep. Not a good fit for somebody on the other side of the world!
