   @melissabeartrix @Tooden Florida was colonized from the north to the south, and there was originally an "old Florida" in the eastern side of the panhandle and a "new Florida" on the western side. Tallahassee was located to be more accessible to both halves. Miami really didn't start to take off until the early-mid 20th century. Miami was a capital of the cocaine trade, which meant a lot of crime. Cocaine is still wildly common down there, too. I know from experience.

     I learned something today ... I didn't know it was the capital ... I would have thought Miami would have been ... And the amount of crime that happens there, and big, strange and bizarre crimes, it's amazing ... Hugz

     @melissabeartrix It's the state capital of Florida. It must be like Midsomer, I think. The population was only 197,102 in 21. Who knows what it is now with #DeathSantis banning all vaccines.
