It's finally the day. I've worked on this video for a month. Countless hours went into it. I can't wait for y'all to see it.
It premieres today, 10pm UTC, or 4pm Central. On Youtube. I would love to have you there, it's going to be a wild trip.

@popey @simon that could be true. I reflected a lot on that, and eventually I think my video can have a positive overall effect. I'm actually seeing too many people I know that are not fully aware of how toxic Lunduke is, whilst - given my audience and the video content - I don't think anyone watching the video will want to have anything to do with him. Thus, I believe I had to point out, loudly, about not just his political issues but also how he misleads and makes data up. I might be wrong
@niccolove @popey @simon I'm definitely going to watch the video, I had no idea about Lunduke's toxicity, thanks!
I'm a long-time Xfce user, maybe that gives me some slack for not knowing, hopefully.
@niccolove @simon Still giving him the oxygen of publicity. As someone who is very aware of his constant grifts, public anti-trans behaviour and other problematic issues, this is completely unwise on your behalf.
@simon ...yeah, I really have no clue what you're talking about
@niccolove lunduke is a very toxic divisive character and any mention of him, his memes, or his image should be discouraged. it really doesn't sit well with the KDE COC https://kde.org/code-of-conduct/
@simon oooh. I'm not using that as a meme. The video is about him. You can get it from the title, as "Linux Sucks" is his show, and my video is called ""Linux Sucks" sucks", so I'm evidently criticizing him.
@niccolove please find a new meme. this reflects badly on KDE. i don't think i need to explain why.
@niccolove @popey @simon From what I have seen from people interacting about Lunduke in the FOSS community. With a video like this, there is going to be more people, who know him but not all the surrounding shenanigans, getting warned then people discovering him and actually going out to check him out. I think this video is more positive than negative for the community.
I have actually explained multiplied time to people sharing some of his content why they shouldn't. I have always got as an answer that they didn't know and that in the future they will stop sharing his content around.
@niccolove I didn't know "Linux Sucks" was a one-person franchise now, and a perennial thing. I saw the first one and thought it was a bit funny and true, but mostly attention-seeking and counterproductive.
I will watch your video to see how it has got worse since then.
@clacke @niccolove
bror, its a tad more complex than that too... ooof the stories about that guy that can be told
@niccolove @popey @simon FWIW I don't follow Lunduke but knew of him and was completely unaware. While I do think this video took it's time a little too much in getting to the point, it was informative, at least to me.
@popey he is being given the oxygen of publicity the last few months already in other channels. In the last few months he went from a solo show in some "weird" corners of the Internet, to show up on some tech podcasts/yt channels.
recently he seems to be trying to rehabilitate his image (after years underground), with this: journalist persona that: "investigates tech companies spending", etc.
At least there is an educational video about who he is.
@mkljczk that sort of things tend to happen when you mention that someone is an antivax
@niccolove thanks for making this video. I had issues with Lunduke's politics since the video trashing Mozilla for giving money to riseup.net
I used to watch online several of his LInux Sucks videos up to 2014. His 2017 edition was basically a show of power, big conference auditorium instead of a classroom, having RMS, the CEO of Red Hat going to his thing, etc. Matched his ego.
